La Yole de Chris
An incomparable setting, seafood selected by Christopher Coutanceau and a terrace overlooking the ocean… This marine-themed bistro adjoining the Michelin 3-star establishment serves the best of the ocean in a very friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
The soul of a chef and a fisherman
The Chef
Christopher Coutanceau, a native of La Rochelle, grew up on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. A fishing and submarine hunting enthusiast, he spends his free time on the ocean and knows every hidden nook and cove of this Breton strait by heart.
Menus & wines
Seafood, fish and shellfish, carefully selected at the fish auction every morning, are the finest produce from local, artisanal, eco-responsible fishing, which respects the ocean's seasons. Carpaccio, wood-fired cuisine, whole fish and seafood platters invite to be shared on the wind-sheltered terrace or our inside space around long festive wooden tables.
La Villa Grand Voile
Step into Christopher Coutanceau and Nicolas Brossard’s marine-themed residence, a former shipowner’s mansion – a member of Relais & Châteaux – located just a stone’s throw from La Concurrence Beach and the historic heart of La Rochelle. This oasis of calm with its 11 rooms and suites, nestling in a wooded courtyard featuring a heated pool, invites you to delight in an enchanting stay interspersed with gastronomic pleasures.
